Arlette was born in Perryton, TX and raised in Liberal, graduating from Liberal High School in 2007. Arlette received her Associate in Natural Science from SCCC in 2009 and then her Associate in Respiratory Therapy 2012. She then went on to receive her Bachelors in Respiratory Care from the University of Kansas in 2019 and is currently working to obtain a Masters degree from Wichita State University. After graduating from SCCC, Arlette worked as a Registered Respiratory Therapist working at Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, MO, Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton, KS, and then Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS. She is currently in her 3rd year teaching at SCCC in the Respiratory Therapy program as the Director of Clinical Education. She is a first generation college student and a proud daughter of Mexican immigrants. “It has been an honor to have been a student and now an employee at such a benevolent institution. It was my parents and I’s dream for me to receive a college education and obtain a career. SCCC has helped me do just that, I am forever thankful for SCCC’s guidance.”
